The St. James/Smithtown Little League team is one step closer to heading to Williamsport after beating Rhode Island Saturday night 18-0 in the first game of the regional tournament.
Fans packed Bull Smith's Tavern in Smithtown to cheer on the town's stars at a watch party.
Fans and supporters said they're pumped for this magic carpet ride the boys are on.
"Just such a good team. I can't believe they've made it this far and hope they make it to Williamsport," said Grayson, a fan from St. James.
"It's so cool because I hang out with them and then I see them on TV, so it's very cool to see," said Max, a fan from Smithtown.
"Our community has come together to really support this great endeavor and these boys are making us so proud," said Peter Russo, Smithtown Little League board member.
St. James/Smithtown advances to the winners bracket.
The team's next game is on Monday.
